Binance ships 1-2 updates per month. New releases usually bring new features, bug fixes, and performance improvements. This article covers update methods for iOS, Android, and the desktop clients, plus how to roll back to an older version if something goes wrong. Binance releases updates using a "major.minor.patch" format. Take 2.92.7, for example:
Binance notifies users of important new releases through an in-app "launch announcement." Major feature launches (like new futures products) are often accompanied by a minor version bump.

For forced updates, the prompt keeps reappearing until you tap "Update Now," and the app becomes unusable in the meantime. Binance ships roughly 1-2 forced updates per year.
Launch the App Store app.
Tap the circular profile icon in the top-right corner.
Scroll through the list of pending app updates. If a new Binance version is available, it will appear here.
To update only Binance, tap the "Update" button next to it, or tap "Update All" to update everything at once.
When you open the Binance app and it detects a new version, a "Update Now" banner appears at the top of the home screen. Tapping it jumps straight to the app's App Store page.
Turn this on under "Settings - App Store - App Updates." Once enabled, all your apps update automatically over WiFi with no manual action needed.
Updating the Binance app requires being signed into the same Apple ID you used to originally download it. If you've switched Apple IDs and forgot which one you used, you'll see an "Unable to Update" message.
Ways to fix this:
Open the Google Play Store, search "Binance," or find it under "Manage apps." If an update is available, an "Update" button will appear.
The Binance APK includes its own update module. Every time you launch the app, it checks the version number, and if a new one is available, it shows an "Update Now" popup.
The popup shows the new version's features and version number. Tap "Update Now."
The client downloads the full APK from binance.com — about 100-150 MB.
Once the download finishes, your system jumps to the install screen. After allowing the "unknown sources" permission, tap "Install."
The app automatically restarts once installed. Your login session is preserved — no need to sign back in.
If the in-app self-update fails, you can manually download the latest APK from binance.com/en/download and install it over the existing app.
The new APK has the same signature as the old one, so it can be installed directly on top of it. All local data is fully preserved.
The Windows desktop client checks its version on launch. If a new version is found, a green "New version available" prompt appears in the top-right corner.
Tap "Update Now" in the top-right corner.
The client downloads the new version's installer in the background. Once done, a "Restart to complete update" popup appears.
Tap "Restart Now." The client closes and automatically relaunches on the new version. The whole process takes 1-2 minutes.
Works similarly to Windows. On launch, the client checks for updates, shows a prompt, downloads the new DMG automatically, and prompts a restart.
If the automatic update fails, you can redownload the installer from binance.com/en/download and install it over the existing version. The Windows installer automatically detects and upgrades the old version — no need to uninstall first.
Apple doesn't support rolling back an installed app to an older version. If a new version has a serious bug, your only options are:
Android offers more flexibility than iOS. To roll back:
APKMirror hosts historical versions of the Binance app, so you can download whichever version you need.
"Settings - Apps - Binance - Uninstall." This clears local cache but doesn't affect your account.
After allowing "unknown sources," install the older APK. The rollback is complete.
Turn off "Settings - Auto Check for Updates" inside the Binance app, otherwise it will keep prompting you to update on launch.
The desktop clients have no built-in rollback mechanism. You can find an older installer on a third-party mirror site like APKMirror, uninstall the current version, then install the older one.
A network issue. Try switching between WiFi and 4G/5G. If it keeps failing, sign out of your App Store account and sign back in.
Common causes for interruptions:
Fix: wait 5 minutes and relaunch the app — it will retry automatically. If it keeps failing, download the APK manually from binance.com.
A temporary Binance server issue. It usually resolves itself within 5-10 minutes.
The new version is incompatible with your system. Options:
Turn on automatic updates and don't worry about version numbers. The Binance app updates itself over WiFi almost invisibly.
Don't enable automatic updates. Wait until the community confirms a new version is stable before upgrading, to avoid new-version bugs disrupting your trading.
Only update the app when the API updates. The Binance Official Site's API documentation flags every change, and strategies relying on that API should be tested before upgrading.
Screenshot your current position details before updating. Right after updating, immediately double-check that your positions and open orders are all intact.

Q: Will I lose my asset data after updating the app? No. Your assets are stored on Binance's servers and have nothing to do with the app itself. You'll see the same balances no matter which client you log in from.
